A Walk in Seattle, Washington

Photo walks are quite therapeutic for me in way. I don’t have to know exactly where I’m going, and as an adult who is always supposed to have the answers, that’s a refreshing experience. Seattle is charming in its own way, and although it’s quite cloudy, there’s color to be found everywhere.

There’s also a bigness about Seattle—the mountains, the space needle, the evergreens, the Fremont troll. Whenever I travel to places like this, I’m reminded that I’m a small person in a big world, and while for some people that means insignificance, for me, it simply means there’s more to life than just me. It’s an invitation to be curious about what I don’t know, including parts of myself.

When I’m meandering Pike Place Market and photographing produce I’ve never seen before. When I’m standing outside of a vacant sanctuary. When I’m watching the sun set over a geometric skyline. I am not all there is, and that’s a comfort and joy to know.
